Colas Rail is a specialist in the design, studies, supply, installation and commissioning of complete electrical power systems for railways and public transport.
We offer a complete range of high voltage and low voltage electrical power systems, and direct or alternating current train power traction substations.
Our skills also extend to large-scale sustainable mobility, such as power supply systems for electric buses. We are also involved in smoke extraction from tunnels, and Hydrogen production and distribution sites.
Systems and tensions
High tension:
All types of high voltage substations and traction substations, mainly from 225kV to 20 kV, with specific 3kV sites.
AC systems:
TAll types of applications, including regional rail networks and high-speed lines. The AC traction voltages are mainly 15kV, 16Hz2/3, 25kV or 2x25kV, 50Hz.
DC systems:
All types of applications, including urban transit systems, suburban railways and main lines. Standardized traction voltages are 750 V DC, 1500 V DC and 3000 V DC.
Low tension:
All types of installation power substations (eBus), mainly 400VAC and 230VAC.
Protections, Automation and SCADA:
All equipment ancillary to the main equipment ensuring the protection, command and control of electrical components. These devices are implemented to manage electrical power systems. They encompass security, communications and operational functions.
Electromechanics/Smoke extraction:
Tunnel smoke extraction system, generally METRO, consisting of a fan, power supply and control equipment.
Hydrogen:
Hydrogen production and distribution system, mainly for community utility vehicles or transport systems such as regional trains.
